Hormone Balance Therapy
To understand hormone balance, you have to understand hormone imbalance. When we’re younger, our bodies produce hormones that keep us fit, active, full of energy, sexual and usually – pretty happy. Stress and life events can certainly have a negative impact on us, but generally – hormones play a huge role in regulating our body, libido, mind and mood.
The body is made up of many hormones that run through the endocrine system. As we age, the body produces fewer hormones. In women, that is estrogen and progesterone, and testosterone. In men, that includes testosterone for the most part, though there are lower levels of estrogen and progesterone.
An imbalance in hormones can manifest in many ways. Symptoms vary by patient, however some signs of a hormone imbalance may include:
- Decrease in Bone Density
- Mood Swings
- Sexual Dysfunction
- Decreased Libido
- Irregular Periods
- Vaginal Dryness
- Hot Flashes
- Night Sweats
- Decreased Libido
Balancing Hormones Naturally
Symptoms alone will not determine if you have a hormone imbalance. While they might show a change has begun, a blood test is the method of determining your hormone levels.
During the initial consultation we will draw your blood to determine your hormone needs. Our treatment for balancing hormones is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Each patient is unique and hormone levels are not standard across the board. In reviewing your current hormone levels, we prescribe individualized treatments that replace the lost hormones through natural, preventive therapies received through Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
